Kern Branch Highlights

There are three types of membership available in MTAC:


ACTIVE TEACHER MEMBERSHIP -
Atleast 2 years teaching experience and a degree in music or the equivalent to a degree in music from an accredited institution.

PROVISIONAL MEMBERSHIP -
Granted to those persons offering satisfactory evidence of the intention and ability to qualify for Active Membership within a three-year period.

STUDENT MEMBERSHIP -
Granted to a student who is working on a music degree at the undergraduate or graduate level.


**If you do not have a degree in music, you may apply for membership based on "Credit Point Requirements". Points are assigned based on the following criteria:

1) Number of years of private teaching experience
2) Number of years in private lesson study beyond the 11th grade of high school.
3) Certain college courses that are non-musical in nature.
4) Number of master classes, workshops, and music conventions attended.
5) Performance experience.
